Solids

We are starting solids this week with buddy Roo! I cannot believe he is already six months... For all my mommy friends who have asked why we waited until 6 months to start solids, here is a wonderful article that explains it best! http://kellymom.com/nutrition/starting-solids/delay-solids/

I make all of my baby food because it is best, so easy, and fun! It is so satisfying for me to whip up a huge batch of yummy combinations of food for my babes. And all I use is our food processor. Which you could also use a blender.
Wyatt's first meal: Avocado. It is one of his sisters favorite foods. He did not like it too much. But we will keep trying! Claire's first food was apples and she hated them for a week... So I'm sure anything we offered to him he wouldn't really care for. Next up... Bananas!

Special date with buddy Roo

A letter to my handsome man

Dear Wyatt,
I am writing you this letter because you are six months old... Well you are closer to Seven months old, but this is our lives these days eh?
I am a girly girl... Thus the reason your sister is as well. I always saw myself with a handful of little girls in matching smocked dresses with classic southern names. I never saw myself with a son, let alone WANT a Son. But boy, you changed all of that. You did something to my heart that I can't even begin to explain. You made your mother mush. Complete mush.
Over the past 7 months you have grown into the sweetest little squishy, cuddly, lovey little man. You bring such joy to our family.
Your first syllable word was this week! And it was "Da". Although you are practicing to say "dada", I see you becoming more and more of a momma's boy each and every day. There is something so special about the way you smile at me from across the room and squirm in your seat or out of daddy's arms to get to me. I know I have said it before... But there is just something about a boy! You melt your momma's heart. Not that your sister isn't just the most special little girl on earth, because she is, she's amazing. But boy oh boy, what you do to me.
My absolute favorite thing about the past 7 months of your life is watching the bond grow between you and your sister. It is amazing how her heart just opened up like she instantly loved you, as did your daddy and I. And she has loved you more as more every day, cheering you on to roll over, kissing your little cheeks, rubbing your little head, handing you toys, singing you songs, and she LOVES to make you laugh. It is the sweetest thing in this world. And you adore her to pieces.
You were a little but of a surprise when we found out you were coming, and It has been a huge adjustment adding you to our family, but one I wouldn't have done it any other way.
I am sad that we are only 6 months away from toddlerhood... Your momma is a baby lover at heart, but I am so so ecstatic to see what kind of little person you are going to turn into. Wyatt, you own my heart son.
Love, mommy
