Bronchiolitis. Scariest day ever.

Wyatt and Claire have both been sick with a pretty rough cold for the past week. Thursday he seemed to be wheezing. I took him in to the doctor and they sent us home saying he had a lot of mucus and he was able to clear it on his own. Friday he seemed to be wheezing worse and it was not clearing. After numerous steam treatments in the bathroom, he seemed to be struggling to breathe. So back to the doctors we went.
After a nebulizer treatment with albuterol and a chest X-ray he seemed to be getting even worse. His respirations were too fast and his lungs were very coarse. She sent us to the ER, almost by rescue squad. There he was monitored and given another treatment of albuterol. He was released later that night with orders for breathing treatments every 4 hours and steroids for 5 days.
The Pediatric ER doctor told us that with our family history of asthma(all of my siblings and Claire now with it) he will likely have these symptoms when he catches a cold.
Great. If I wasn't already paranoid enough about getting sick.
Knowing a little cold could send my baby to the ER with a deadly wheeze is terrifying.
Ill continue to craft a bubble for my kids and we are also planning to move to the islands with no seasonal changes. We will miss everyone, but you can come to visit.
